The decision of the Government Council for Health Risks by The Ministry of Health will reduce the quarantine and isolation period from 14 to 10 days with effect from 1 September.
Isolation in subjects who have been shown to have the presence of SARS-CoV-2 by RT PCR test and do not have symptoms of COVID-19 is newly ordered for a minimum duration of 10 days.
In positively tested individuals who have symptoms of COVID-19, the isolation period is adjusted so that at least 3 days must pass with no symptoms of the disease before isolation is completed and isolation must not be shorter than 10 days.
The beginning of the isolation period is calculated from the date of laboratory sample being taken. Isolation is terminated after a specified time without PCR test.
All persons who, on the basis of the epidemiological inquiry, have been identified as persons in close contact with the infected person, are ordered to take quarantine measures for a minimum of 10 days. The period of quarantine measures is calculated from the date of the last contact.
