Dear UNYP Community,

At midnight March 26-27, the annual Population Census in the Czech Republic starts and it will run until April 9. Everyone including foreigners present in the country on the decisive moment are obliged to get counted. This obligation applies to Czech citizens and persons with foreign citizenships who are present in the Czech Republic and are staying here for more than 90 days (including visiting students).

The census will be carried out primarily online on the website (the site is in English as well as in 7 other foreign languages), or you can use a mobile application called Sčítání21, the app will be available for download from 27th of March via Google Play and App Store. Another person from a common household is also allowed to fill in the census form for a foreigner provided that he/she knows relevant information for the personal part of the census form.

Informational support for the upcoming Census and help for the public with filling in census forms is provided by the 2021 Census Contact Centre. The Centre is operating daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays at the following phone numbers: 840 30 40 50 and 253 253 683. For additional question you can also use e-mail address or chat in a virtual advisory centre for the 2021 Census (on the web in the right lower corner).

All the information is available in English here

Kind regards,

Rector’s Office
